Western Illusions About Healers and Healing

What attitude should I have when coming to a healing session?

It is best to come with openness and trust to a healing session that you will get what you most need. Expectations about what you will receive can block your healing process, because the type of healing that you most need at the time may be different that what you expect. The source of all healing is ultimately self-healing and comes from the God within.

Do I have to believe certain things?

Belief systems can stand in the way of the healing process. This is because tightly held belief systems can set up certain prescribed methods through which healing must flow, even though it may actually come to you in a very different way.

What may I experience during a healing session?

Healing sessions last approximately one hour. Clients relax, fully clothed, on a massage table and can have their eyes open or closed. The client’s energy field is scanned and the practitioners may softly place their hands on parts of the body. There are several common physical sensations a client may experience. For example, clients often feel heat coming from the healer’s hands that ranges in temperature from slightly warm to very hot. Sometimes a cool current is felt that has a sensation of being touched by menthol or dry ice. These warm and cold currents may be felt at the area of the body where the healer is touching and they may flow to other parts of the body. Tingling or a pleasant sense of numbness are also commonly felt. At times a client may feel like she is basking in the sun. When this happens, a high energy connection is being made that can seem to fill a client with bliss. Each sensation represents a different type of healing energy that is being channeled through the healers from the Creator to serve different purposes in the healing process for you.

Other common feelings clients experience are drowsiness, a sense of letting go, a rush of positive energy, feeling energized, sensations of lightness, floating, detachment, the head or the entire body being filled with light seeing light or colors. A client may also experience spiritual states of consciousness such as joy, ecstasy, a sense of being “whole,” oceanic consciousness, great love, forgiveness of others, acceptance of self., and a new view of oneself. All these feelings and states of being are the result of the “rewiring” that can take place as the healers work with the circuitry of the energetic body to repair any damage circuits (meridians) along the body.

With some patients, welled up emotions such as anger, frustration, and sadness are released during the healing process through. Some clients experience this release with tears during the healing session. Even if the client is not aware of the source of the welled up emotions, a release can be experienced afterwards.

Sometimes a client may feel a physical pain intensify during or following the healing session. Don’t be alarmed if this happens. What you are experiencing is much like bringing a fever to a head. If it occurs, the intensification is usually short-lived and a major emotional, spiritual, and physical release follows. If a release of pain does not occur, then this signals that another problem under the surface of this one that needs to be addressed.

When physical or emotional pain rises to the surface, clients are asked not to “fight it,” but to give in to it or try to be with it. These emotions are a vital art of the total healing of mind, body and spirit. The pain will soon reach a peak and then begin to diminish. The healer will ask the client to let him or her know when the pain has stopped. The healer will often get impressions regarding the source of the client’s pain or illness, and will ask the client to share information about the source of the feelings.

An energetic healing changes the circuitry that runs along the body to enable a client to function on a higher level spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Although it might appear that nothing is being done while this work is being performed, clients often become aware of the changes in themselves in the days following the healing session.

Should there be follow-up session later?

Peter and Astrid have seen that most people receiving healing have “layers” of problems. Even thought a client can be free of the initial symptoms, when one layer is lifted off during a healing, another, deeper layer can surface. When this happens, clients often choose to come for an additional session.

Why do you suggest inactivity after my healing?

Healing energies continue to work for the next 24-hours or more after a hands-on session. Excessive physical activity can disburse that energy, diminishing the results of the healing. Subsequently, it is recommended that you take it easy the day of, and if possible, after a healing session.

Why charge for healing?

Healing is an ancient profession. Each session with Peter and Astrid involves their joint work, which expands the healing energies available to a client. The combined session rate is based on a comparable fee for the healing practices they do individually.

Why do you ask me to consider making changes in my life?

Disease and accidents are teachers for us. They show us what is out of balance in our lives. A person who has experienced a healing can sometimes have a recurrence of the problem because he failed to make the necessary changes in his life and reverted back to an old pattern of wrong feeling, thinking, or acting. Therefore, Peter and Astrid ask each person who comes to them for healing to try to determine what the emotional, mental or spiritual cause of their affliction might be and to make every effort to make changes in their life accordingly.

How successful have you been in your treatments?

All but a handful of the more than eighty people Peter and Astrid have worked with have experienced dramatic improvement or have been completely cured. By any standard, this is a dramatic success rate. Peter and Astrid attribute this high percentage to their clients’ strong faith and desire to be healed and to the extraordinary healing protocol they have been given.

What have you been successful in healing?

Peter and Astrid have been successful in healing several types of cancer, heart disease, emotional disorders, suicidal depression, severe pain, bodily pain from accidents, emphysema, arthritis, epilepsy, spirit attachments, extreme fear, anxiety and depression. The most powerful healings, however, are those in which a person’s life has been turned around or in some cases when their life, by the grace of God, has been given back to them. Peter and Astrid are humbly and profoundly grateful for whatever part they had in such transformations.

Why is gratitude important?

To express gratitude to the Creation, the Creator, or to the healer for being conduits for the blessing of healing is not a moral obligation. It is a way of opening up circuits for higher energies to flow to you. The emotion of gratitude releases chemicals in the brain and builds etheric receptors open you up to receive a greater amount of the God Force.

Why do you recommend that we bring more laughter into our lives?

It is the condition of modern society that we take ourselves and our lives much too seriously. This creates an inner rigidity and inflexibility in our minds, and our life tends to become more and more restrictive thereby blocking out positive energy.

Peter and Astrid recommend having a “light touch” in your life, even when things do not seem that light. Laughter is one of the very essences of the Creation, and is an incredibly powerful medicine. It is more powerful than prayer or meditation. Laughter can instantly dispel negativity in a group and heal wounds. Nothing else is so transformative.

Why does sickness sometimes return?

Sickness sometimes returns in the same or a different form. Sickness is a powerful, though unwanted teacher that reveals to us imbalances in the mind, body or emotions. More importantly, sickness reveals to us when we are out of alignment with our soul’s purpose. If a problem returns after a healing, especially after healing multiple layers, then this is usually the result of failure to make the necessary changes in one’s life to restore balance.

A Suggestion for Other Healers

Some Western healers today have the illusion that “God will take care of the negativity that I attract from healing.” Others believe that “no darkness can enter me!” Unfortunately, Peter’s experience has shown that energy does not work this way. It is important that healers know how and when to purge herself of the unbalanced and negative energy that had been drawn off a client.

In the United States, three famous healers have all died of cancer in recent years. Likewise, Peter and Astrid personally know two talented international healers who have become negative and somewhat strange in their dealings, because they do not believe they need to discharge the negative energy they receive from clients. In another case, a healer believed that her Spirit Guides would take care of the negative energy she was receiving, and ignored Peter and Astrid’s suggestion to protect herself. A few years ago we warned a talented healer from another country to protect herself. Sadly, she has been experiencing unnecessary negativity in her life.

A talented healer may enjoy success for a time in attracting positive energy into her life and then suddenly appear to have a streak of bad luck or unexpected health problems. We wish to caution fellow healers about this, and encourage you to take the time and effort to de-charge unbalanced and negative energy you inadvertently receive from your patients. De-charging is a necessary part of our healing practice.
